Bound by Destiny: A Love Beyond Life
In this series, Arimura plays Sugawara Saeko, a woman on a mission to spread the joy of the world’s most delicious coffee, capable of bringing smiles to those who are suffering. Sakaguchi portrays Naruse Kazumasa, a university employee who has been frail since childhood and has given up on many things in life.
The newly announced cast includes Ikuta, who plays Yusuke Nakamachi, Saeko’s radiant lover, and Naruse Miki, Yusuke’s supportive wife, who stands by him despite his illness and positive outlook.
In the teaser, it’s revealed that Saeko (Arimura) loses her beloved Yusuke (Ikuta) in a tragic accident on the day he proposes to her. Naruse (Sakaguchi), whose life is saved by Yusuke’s donated heart, finds himself inexplicably connected to Saeko, as if guided by fate.

After Yusuke’s death, Miura plays Hiro, who warmly watches over Saeko as he runs a coffee plantation in Hawaii. It was also revealed that Eita Okuno portrays Kengo Okuno, Yusuke’s best friend; Ayumu Ito takes on the role of Midori Tateishi, the president of a coffee company; Issey Ogata plays Yuriko Nakamachi, Yusuke’s mother; and Kanji Furutate portrays a train conductor, while Miki’s mother, Hiroko, is played by “the respective actress”.
